Transperth travel options for the festive season

Christmas Day (Sat Dec 25)
On Christmas Day, Transperth buses and ferries will operate on the Sunday-public holiday timetable.  There will be no CAT services.

Christmas Day trains will run every half-hour on all except the Thornlie line, with the first services starting according to the first scheduled service on the Sunday-public holiday timetable.  Thornlie trains will run hourly from 6.52am (to Thornlie) and 7.35am (to Perth).  Armadale trains will stop at all stations. Patrons should note that some train-bus-ferry connections will be affected.

Boxing Day (Sun Dec 26)
On Boxing Day, all trains, buses and ferries will again operate on the Sunday-public holiday timetable.  There will be no Fremantle and Joondalup CAT services. Perth CATs will operate on a Sunday timetable.

Mon-Tues Dec 27-28
Bus, train and ferry services (including the Perth and Fremantle CATs) will operate on a Sunday/Public Holiday timetable. There will be no Joondalup CAT.

 

New Year’s Eve (Fri Dec 31)
Normal timetabled services run through the day on New Year’s Eve.  Some bus routes may be affected by road closures in Northbridge, Scarborough and Rockingham, but hundreds of extra bus, train and ferry services are scheduled for the evening, running into New Year’s Day.

As has been the case in recent years, trains will run throughout the night.

Mandurah Line

  • To Perth: every 30 mins until 10.50pm, the about every 15 minutes (11.03pm, 11.20pm, 11.33pm, 11.48pm, 12.03am, 12.20am, 12.33am, 12.48am, 1am, 1.18am, 1.33am) until 2.03am, then hourly until 5.03am 
  • To Mandurah: every 30 mins until 11.45pm then every 15 mins until 2.30am, 3am then hourly until 6am

Joondalup Line

  • To Perth: every 30 mins until 11.08pm then every 15 mins until 1.18am, 1.38am, 1.53am, 2.23am then hourly until 5.23am 
  • To Joondalup: every 30 mins until 11.45pm then every 15 mins until 2.30am, 3am then hourly until 6am

Armadale Line

  • To Perth: every 30 mins until 12.46am, 1.09am, 1.29am, 1.46am, 2.59am, 3.45am and 4.45am
  • To Armadale: every 30 mins until midnight, every 20 mins until 1.40am, 2.15am, 3.00am then hourly until 6am

Thornlie Line

  • To Perth: every 30 mins until 12.19am, then every 20 mins until 2.19am
  • To Thornlie: every 30 mins until 11.51pm, then every 20 mins until 1.50am

Fremantle Line

  • To Perth: every 15 mins until 3am, then hourly until 5.33am
  • To Fremantle: every 15 mins until 2.15am, 3am then hourly until 6am

Midland Line

  • To Perth: every 30 mins until 12.30am, every 15 mins until 2.16am, 2.45am, 3.31am, 4.33am and 5.33am 
  • To Midland: every 30 mins until midnight, every 15 mins until 1.45am, 2.15am, 3.01am, 4.03am then hourly until 6.03am

Bus services will be boosted on a number of routes before and after midnight.  In most instances, these run through to final departures at 2am-2.30am, with services to and from various key areas until 4am, and the last Circle Route 99 leaving Fremantle at 4.05am.

Ferries operate on a weekday summer timetable until 7.48pm from Barrack Street and 8 pm from Mends Street, then every 30 minutes on the quarter-hour from Barrack Street (until 12.45am) and on the half-hour from Mends Street (until 1am).

New Year’s Day
Other than the New Year’s Eve specials running through into the early hours of the morning, train services will run on a Saturday timetable on New Year’s Day. 

Ferries and buses (including the Perth and Fremantle CATs) will operate on a Sunday/Public Holiday timetable. There will be no Joondalup CAT service.

Monday 3 January 2011
All train, ferry and bus services (including the Perth and Fremantle CATs) will operate on a Sunday/Public Holiday.  Again there will be no Joondalup CAT service.

Normal fares apply on all the festive season services.
