Stirling Bus Interchange

The Stirling Bus Interchange, adjoining Stirling Station and the Mitchell Freeway will undergo a $90 million upgrade.

The project includes upgrading the existing 18-stand facility to a 30-stand bus interchange, along with the construction of a new pedestrian concourse between Stirling Station and the southern car park.

The Stirling Bus Interchange works will be undertaken by Main Roads as part of the Stephenson Avenue Extension Project. Further details on the project can be found on the Main Roads website.

Southern car park opening 

From 23 March 2026, the bike shelter, ACROD parking bays, short-term parking and drop off /pick up bays will open in their new permanent location following upgrades completed by the Stephenson Avenue Extension project.  

Parking machines will be temporarily relocated to improve convenience and accessibility for car park users.

Car park access will remain via Stephenson Avenue with a left turn exit only.

The remainder of the southern car park is anticipated to open in mid-2026.

Transperth parking charges will apply when parking in the southern car park.

Temporary parking will continue to be provided west of the station at 3 tassels place until 2026. 

Pedestrian access changes

Pedestrian access from the northern and temporary car parks is changing due to Cedric Street closures between Stephenson Avenue and Ellen Stirling Boulevard.
