Description:

On the floor of the main entrance from Wellington Street into the station is a terrazzo image of a winged train wheel. Alf Francas was employed by Western Australian Government Railways from 1949 to the early 1980s. He is remembered for creating the design in the early 1950s. Large sheets of paper were scattered about the drawing office as the finishing touches were applied. The design was then put down by a local terrazzo worker, Samson.
