The Glow Studio (Jude Bunn and Johanna Standish-Hansen)

Title: From A to B

Artist/s: The Glow Studio (Jude Bunn and Johanna Standish-Hansen)

Year: 2007

Category: Mural

Site: Warnbro Station

Location Details: Warnbro Station platform wall

Description:

The work is on the western platform. It is a faceted, wall-mounted structure comprised of 48 separate units which have angled front facades of varying profiles. It is made from painted aluminium sheet, with digitally printed imagery on the front facades.

Artist/s Statement:

The face of the artwork carries abstracted imagery and text where a dialogue between the themes of flora and the concept of transit and movement are explored. Geometry, direction and speed are juxtaposed with nature, randomness, and stillness. This thematic diversity reiterates the importance of the natural ecology, in reference to the threatened ecological community adjoining the Warnbro Station site, and the activity of transportation.
