Extra bus and train services for bushfire fundraiser derby

06/03/2009

Transperth is scheduling extra bus and train services to help patrons get to and from Subiaco Oval for the special bushfire appeal derby on Saturday.

The Eagles v Dockers game is joint-ticketed, which means the price of admission also covers travel on all Transperth services for three hours before, during and three hours after the game.

Patrons must show their ticket to the bus driver or fare gate attendant to access the travel component, which means people collecting tickets at Subiaco Oval are entitled to travel after the game only.

Given the nature of the game, Transperth is waiving the fee it usually charges the promoter under joint ticketing arrangements

Trains
Train services on all lines will operate on a Saturday timetable, with extra capacity in the evening.  Football special shuttles leave Perth Station (Platform 7) for West Leederville between 3.07pm and 4.52pm.

After the game, patrons should use West Leederville Station and not Subiaco Station.  Special Mandurah shuttles leave West Leederville from 7.54pm to 8.19pm while Perth-bound shuttles leave to connect with timetabled and special trains on the Joondalup, Armadale/Thornlie and Midland lines at various times from 7.46pm.

Fremantle Line trains leaving West Leederville will not stop at Loch and Grant Street.  Patrons needing these stations will be provided with a maxi-taxi service.

Buses
Football specials leave Curtin University, Karrinyup Shopping Centre and the Morley Bus Station at 3.40pm, 3.55pm and 4.10pm.

After the game, Curtin buses leave from Roberts Road, in the car park adjacent to Kitchener Park; Karrinyup buses from Salvado Road near St Joseph’s Church; and Morley buses from Roberts Road near Kitchener Park.  The last buses leave 20 minutes after the final siren.

More information is available from the Transperth website (www.transperth.wa.gov.au) or the Transperth InfoLine 13 62 13 (TTY: 9428 1999, TIS: 13 14).
