Joondalup Line problem fixed

Trains are running normally on the Joondalup Line after being severely disrupted earlier in the afternoon.

A section of track between Perth and Whitfords was affected by a communications problem between the track and Transperth’s Train Control Room.  As a result, trains have to move slowly through various sections, creating significant delays in both directions.

The problem lasted for about an hour and was rectified by about 4pm.

However, the impact of the delays is expected to flow through into the afternoon peak and will also have an impact on the Mandurah Line.
