New multi-storey Greenwood Station car park a step closer

Plans for a new multi-storey car park at Greenwood Station are progressing, with Request for Tender applications for the structure's design and construction opening today.

Patronage from Greenwood Station is expected to increase in the coming years, placing pressure on the number of available car parks.

Daily boardings at the station are expected to increase from the current level of fewer than 1500, to around 4000 a day by 2031.

The multi-storey car park will offer about 700 parking bays, taking the total number of bays at Greenwood Station to 1600. The new car park will also have capacity to support electric vehicles with provision for charging infrastructure.

The new car park will be built within the station's existing car park footprint, at the southern end.

The project will also include more drop-off facilities within the current car park, and extra ACROD parking bays.
