Lock 'n' Ride car parks

24 November 2003

You catch the train. We'll watch your car.

As a TrainSafe Initiative, Transperth is introducing secure parking areas at 17 train stations on the Perth network.

Lock 'n' Ride

car parks are fenced areas that are locked between 9am and 3.30pm on weekdays. This parking, already available at Kenwick, is free of charge and will operate at Bayswater, Cannington, Glendalough, Maddington and Queens Park train stations from Monday 24 November 2003.

Fremantle and North Fremantle will follow from late 2003/early 2004.

Lock 'n' Ride car parks will also form part of upgrades to train stations at Bassendean (February 2004), and Armadale and Gosnells (mid 2004).

If you need to release your car from the secured area when the gates are locked, please use the emergency telephone on the station platform or call 9326 2081. A release fee will apply.

Pay 'n' Display

car parks are also fenced, but are patrolled by car park attendants between 7am and 9pm weekdays. A flat fee of $1 per day, or part thereof, applies. These car parks will operate from Monday 15 December 2003 at Currambine, Edgewater, Midland, Stirling, Warwick and Whitfords train stations.

Free parking bays will still be available outside of the Pay 'n' Display areas.
