What does a Network Control Officer do?

Network Control Officers are responsible for controlling the safe, efficient and effective coordination of all rail traffic, network occupations and maintenance across the PTA’s urban rail network.

They are the vital point of contact for many other stakeholders across the PTA, particularly within the Transperth Train Operations Division. Using excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, they are able to effectively multitask, often under pressure, to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of train services and network maintenance to get our passengers where they need to go.

 

What does training involve?

The right applicants will be given six months paid training, with classroom-based learning and on-the-job training, facilitated by experienced mentors.

 

What qualification will I attain?

Upon completion of your training, you will receive a Certificate IV in Rail Network Control, a nationally recognised qualification.

 

What will I earn? 

The training salary is $110,817.05 and as a qualified Network Control Officer the salary is $130,373.
