Extra Sunday buses to continue
A trial of Sunday services on some TransBunbury routes has been extended for six months.
TransBunbury spokesman Matthew Saliacus said a six-month trial of Sunday services on routes 843 and 845 began in March this year.
“The original trial has been extended by six months to allow us to assess patronage over the summer period,” he said.
Route 843 between Bunbury Bus Station and Dalyellup will continue to run every 60 minutes between 7.30am and 6.30pm.
Route 845 will run between Bunbury Bus Station and Millbridge every 60 minutes between 7.30am and 5.30pm.
“There are many terrific events and activities to enjoy in Bunbury during the warmer months and having the option of using public transport is a huge plus for locals and visitors.
“Whether you’re taking the family out for a day at the Christmas Carnival or looking forward to tasting a few reds at the Wine Festival, taking the bus takes out the hassle of driving.”
The extra services were introduced in March in response to community requests. A review of patronage on these routes will take place at the end of the trial, after which a decision will be made on the possible permanent introduction of the Sunday services.
Mr Saliacus will be available to discuss TransBunbury services with Bunbury residents at the Seniors Expo this Sunday between 9am and 4.30pm.
