Site: Noranda Station

Location Detail: Artwork is integrated into sections of glazed skylights, centrally positioned in the main station roof/ceiling.

Medium: Ceramic print on glass

Description: 

The skylights across the Ellenbrook Line form a suite of artworks dedicated to revealing the interrelationships of all living things across these areas. Marcia McGuire explored the indigenous social and ecological interdependence for Ellenbrook and Ballajura, while Penelope Forlano focused on the ecological interdependence of the flora and fauna for Whiteman Park, Morley and Noranda.

Lightning Swamp is an extensive wetland with declared rare flora amongst its more than 150 species. As a significant site for water birds, the Noranda skylight artwork features the Eastern Great Egret and the Australasian Darter illustrated as formed by and camouflaged within the native Typha (Bulrush or Yandyait in Noongar).
