Golden Bridge

Rodney Glick

Title: Golden Bridge

Artist/s: Rodney Glick

Year: 2005

Category: Sculpture

Site: West Leederville Station

Location Details: West Leederville Station footbridge

Description:

Two structures of steel and wood symbolise the footbridges that existed at this station from 1897. Extending from the wooden footbridge bases are golden steel forms, positioned at the height of the original landing, and at the highest point of the footbridge. Gold marks the transition from reality to the idealised art forms, representing the beauty of everyday objects.

The PTA acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises  the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that this site may contain images or names of people who are deceased.
