Work beginning on Henley Brook bus depot

Construction will start soon on a new bus depot for buses operating the Morley-Ellenbrook Line's bus feeder network.

A $9.2 million contract has been awarded to Perth company BE Projects to design and construct the new Henley Brook depot, which will be adjacent to the existing Henley Brook Bus Station.

To support Morley-Ellenbrook Line operations, more than 80 new buses will be introduced to the Transperth network; 30 will be housed at the new depot.

With space for up to 90 buses, the depot will replace the existing privately-leased 35-bay Ellenbrook depot - future-proofing stabling capabilities for the area in a government-owned facility.

Construction will begin in June and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
