Ride with Pride on board Transperth’s official rainbow bus

Passengers will now have their chance to board a rainbow, with Transperth today proudly launching a rainbow bus in support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Ride with Pride rainbow bus will begin circulating on the Perth network from today.

Last year, the Public Transport Authority, Main Roads and the Department of Transport marched behind a Transperth bus at the Pride Parade for the first time, demonstrating wider Transport portfolio support.

This year a Transperth bus has been fully covered in rainbow colours to demonstrate Transperth’s long-term commitment to inclusivity of all passengers, including the LGBTQIA+ community.

Transperth spokesperson David Hynes said it was important to support and celebrate diversity of all passengers, regardless of their background, ability or experience.

“Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and respected, as well as feeling safe being who they are on public transport.

“Ride with Pride is just one of the ways we will be celebrating diversity and inclusion of our passengers and staff and encourage everyone to get on board and enjoy the rainbow ride.”
