The Public Transport Authority has begun work to create a new bus depot at Brockway Road, Mount Claremont.
The project is part of a long-term strategy to ensure all Transperth bus depots are owned by the PTA and the State.
In August 2018 the PTA awarded a contract for the design and construction of the new bus depot to Pindan Constructions Pty Ltd.
Since then the partnership have worked closely to build what will be a great depot to ensure the efficient and effective long-term business continuity of the PTA’s Transperth bus services in the Claremont bus service contract area.
The depot is being built on a 1.2ha site located west of Brockway Road and has been designed to accommodate a four bay workshop, administration building, bus refuelling facilities, bus wash facilities and parking areas for up to 55 buses and 65 cars.
When operational the depot will be open between 5 am and 12.30am, however bus movements will mainly occur between 6-8am and 6-8pm.
