What do you need?
To be successful in a railcar driver position, you will need basic mechanical or technical ability with literacy and numeracy skills. You must be a good communicator, with proven customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
How can you join the Transperth team?
We recruit on an as-needs basis which is roughly every two years. We hold information sessions that provide an excellent insight into the daily responsibilities of the role and will give you the opportunity to talk to people who work in this field.

Training requirements
Successful applicants are required to successfully complete a 25-week paid training period, as well as on-the-job training as a trainee railcar driver. You will attain a Certificate IV in Train Driving at the end of your training.
