In late June 2017, 46 solar panels were successfully installed at Mandurah Station, to create an 11.96kW SolarReturn System that will help lower energy costs by nearly 5% and reduce carbon emissions by 1500 kilograms per year.
This pilot program is in line with the Public Transport Authority’s commitment to consider the long-term economic, social and environmental impact of everything we do.
If the trial at Mandurah Station proves to be successful, the PTA will then roll this out at selected stations across the network.
