A number of escalators along the Joondalup Line are out of service due to ongoing mechanical and maintenance issues. We have come to an agreement with the manufacturer to perform essential maintenance and repair works to rectify these ongoing issues.
Work on the out of service escalators at Whitfords and Stirling stations have been completed and these escalators have returned to operation.
The next stage of works will take place at Warwick,Glendalough and Perth stations:
Warwick Station
- One escalator will undergo work from January 2021 to March 2021.
Glendalough Station
- One escalator will undergo work from January 2021 to April 2021.
Perth Station
- Perth Station will resume work in April 2021 to August 2021.
Future Works
This project will continue on escalators at these stations:
• Joondalup
• Warwick
• Glendalough
• Perth
Each station (except Perth) will have one escalator unavailable at a time, with these works expected to take approximately two months per escalator to complete. At each station there are stairs and at least one lift available as alternatives.
Mobility or vision impaired passengers can call 1800 800 022 at least an hour in advance if they require special assistance.
These works are expected to be complete mid-2021.
