Year: 2025

Category: Integrated

Site: Armadale Station

Location Details: Circular seating area, pedestrian ramp from Green Street.

Artist/s Statement:

Dellas Bennell’s artwork invites viewers to embark on a journey of discovery through the Armadale Station precinct, exploring the local native flora, fauna, and cultural narratives that sustain Noongar country. The travel lines and circular motifs connect all the artworks representing waterways, migration and meeting places, and how Noongar people would interact with each of the native animals and plants along the journey. Inspired by elder consultation and family stories, Bennell’s artwork invites reflection on resilience, sustainability, and identity, offering a tribute to country and a meaningful connection point for community and culture.

This artwork features yongka (kangaroos), welcoming visitors to the space to take a seat.

The Public Transport Authority acknowledge that Noongar languages are oral in nature and that one word can be spelt in multiple ways.
