Artist/s Statement:

This artwork explores themes around fire stimulating fertility and growth in the environment.  The egg-shaped platform at the base of the sculpture features sandblasted drawings by Noongar artist Marcia McGuire depicting fertile soil, waterholes and waterways.  This foundation gives life to a bybrid shape which resembles both a flame and a young shoot emerging from the soil after a fire.  LED lighting transitions from green, symbolising rebirth, and red, representing fire.
