To increase safety at the car park entrance and exit at East Perth Station, the existing shared path will be upgraded to a wombat crossing. A wombat crossing is a raised pedestrian crossing/cycle path that provides greater visibility of pedestrians and cyclists for approaching vehicles.
While car park works are being carried out, reconfiguration of coach parking at the Transwa depot will also take place to remove the clash between coaches departing and cars entering this area. Work in this area includes maximising coach parking and installing a new cars only entrance from Cheriton Street.
Work for the wombat crossing will begin in late-June 2024 and will be complete later in the year.
Standard work hours are Monday to Saturday, 7am–7pm. All works will follow an approved traffic management plan.
