The State Government is investing $107 million to deliver more public transport options on the Swan River.
The expansion of ferry services is a natural progression to meet the needs of an expanding city, supporting activation of popular, high-density living riverside precincts, and increasing accessibility across the river.
Planning is underway to identify the most appropriate locations for potential landings and routes for Stage 1 of the project which will see services extended to Crawley (UWA) and Applecross.
A detailed analysis of required design work, geotechnical, civil and marine engineering, as well as passenger journey requirements is conducted as part of this process.
The State Government is calling on industry to design and construct a new fleet of modern electric vessels. A Request of Tender, available from the Tenders WA website, is open until 21 May 2025.
