Title: Carousel

Artist/s: Abnormal Design (David Garland and Drew Straker) with input by local youth

Year: 2008

Category: Urban Art Mural

Site: Glendalough Station

Location Details: Bus Interchabge Wall

Description:

A large, colourful piece of urban art covers the bridge wall below the station and beside the bus interchange area. Access can be gained by travelling down the escalators to road level. The artists worked with local youths to complete this piece which, aims to get people thinking and come to their own conclusions about urban art.

Artist/s Statement:

A perfect location for a mural. Our goal was to turn a dull, grey space into a whirlpool of colour and what better way to do this than to paint one of the most fun and stylish carnival rides ever created! This eye-catching piece can be viewed from a distance but it’s the finer details that are best viewed close up.
