Free travel for seniors during WA Seniors Week

Seniors will find it easy to enjoy the 2019 WA Seniors Week celebrations with free travel on Transperth and TransRegional services.

Seniors SmartRider card owners will be able to travel free from the first service on November 10 to the last service on November 17 across all Transperth buses, trains and ferries and all TransRegional buses.

Transperth spokesman David Hynes encouraged all seniors to take advantage of the free travel.

“There are no restrictions on the offer - you can jump on a train, bus or ferry as often as you want during the week,” Mr Hynes said.

“All Seniors SmartRider cards are programmed with the free travel entitlements, so it’s important that seniors still tag on and off for each trip.”

Even when the week-long Seniors Week festivities are over, seniors will still be able to enjoy free travel on weekends and public holidays, as well as off-peak times during weekdays.

If you do not have a Seniors SmartRider, visit the WA Seniors Card Centre or download an application form from seniorscard.wa.gov.au.
