Automatic Train Protection System Upgrade

Project overview

The $11.8 million Automatic Train Protection System Upgrade saw existing train operations technology upgraded with a modern equivalent.

The system upgrade provides a more reliable and safer service for train operations.

This project involved the design, installation and commissioning of ATP encoders at a number of locations, and the replacement or reconfiguration of existing equipment across the rail network.

Work on the project began in July 2016 and finished in November 2019.
