SBS at a glance

Network of 713 school buses servicing mainstream schools, 119 servicing special education facilities and three regular public transport service arrangements.
Services (mainly the contracted orange school buses) accessed each school day by 26,600 students.
Inspection records computerised - SBS vehicle inspectors now take laptops into the field and can upload/download data as required.
As at June 30, 588 school buses (67 per cent of the contracted fleet) were fitted with seat belts, and 712 (81 per cent of the fleet) had air conditioning.
