PTA at a glance

  • Transperth total boardings up 3.3 per cent to 135.975 million; Transwa down 2.1 per cent to 446,637; and 26,600 students carried by School Bus Services each day.
  • Passenger Satisfaction Monitor (PSM) showed 84.4 per cent of Transperth customers and 90 per cent of Transwa customers are happy with the overall quality of services.

  • 588 "orange" school buses (67 per cent of contracted fleet) now have seat belts and 712 (81 per cent) have air conditioning.
  • Seniors and pensioners took 7.642 million free off-peak journeys. Take-up of this scheme, introduced in early 2009, is growing faster than overall patronage.
  • Regional bus replacement program continued to cut the age of the regional fleet, improve its amenity (air conditioning) and ensure compliance with Federal disability standards.
  • Daytime safety perceptions of Transperth services were in the high 90s (per cent)on board and at the stop or station. The night figures all improved, to 82 (bus) and 76 per cent (train) on board and the low 70s (per cent) at the stop/station.
  • EDI Rail-Bombardier Transportation (Maintenance) Pty Ltd selected as preferred tenderer for a major, long-term railcar maintenance and cleaning contract.
  • Completed development of Edgewater Station, Mirrabooka bus station and upgraded facilities at Kalgoorlie Station.
  • Started work on a new, state-of-the-art Central Monitoring Room.
