Key Points of 2005/06

	Transperth customer numbers increased by 3.7% to more than 98 million boardings on rail, bus and ferry services in the year.
	Train services on the new Thornlie Line began.
	Greater frequency was introduced on key bus routes in the metropolitan area.
	Construction of the Southern Suburbs Railway was 75% complete by 30 June 2006 .
	Public use of the new SmartRider ticketing system began.
	A new train was introduced for the AvonLink and MerredinLink services of Transwa.
	The number of PTA full-time-equivalent staff stood at 1,053 at 30 June 2006 .
	The $27 million Urban Securities Initiative Project was completed, significantly improving security for train passengers.
