Did you know that our trespass stats doubled in 2017?! Whether it’s pushing through pedestrian gates, jumping down to cross tracks or collect dropped items, too many people think they will be able to spot and outrun a train.
‘Trains come out of nowhere’ was one of the key messages in the recent Stay off the Tracks campaign aimed at engaging and educating people about the risks of trespassing on the network.
To sweeten the message, brand ambassadors handed out candy canes with infographic postcards to passers-by at Perth, McIver and Armadale stations in the lead up to Christmas. A local urban artist, Drew Straker, was commissioned to paint a multi-dimensional replica of a train, as another way to start the conversation about trespass.
