The first major contract for the Forrestfield-Airport Link project was awarded in September for geotechnical studies and since then, the project has come a long way. These studies have been continuing to find out more detailed information about the ground conditions. Samples have been taken from depths as far as 32m below the ground and will help inform the design of the tunnels.
The studies are expected to continue throughout the coming months in preparation for the start of construction work in 2016.
