Works to upgrade the principal shared path (PSP) on the southern side of Bayswater Station is now complete.
The $1.5 million upgrade saw the construction of a new section of PSP to connect the existing pathway at either end of the station. The new PSP starts at the eastern side of the Bayswater rail bridge, runs alongside the Whatley Crescent car park, and joins the existing PSP opposite Slade Street. The project also included extending the PSP over the existing pedestrian underpass. The new PSP connection greatly improves safety and accessibility at the station by separating bicycle and pedestrian traffic from car movements.
Forward works began in 2016 and included changing the alignment of the car bays and changes to access/egress. Now that this work is complete, vehicles are only able to enter the car park from the west and exit from the east.
