Rail union votes to stay out

13/02/2004

Transperth and Transwa rail services have been halted after a stop-work meeting of members of the Australian Rail, Tram and Bus Industry Union voted to stay on strike until 9am on Monday.

Rail replacement buses will run through the afternoon and weekend, but the number of buses available will be limited later this afternoon by their normal after-school and afternoon peak requirements.

The Public Transport Authority is seeking an urgent Industrial Relations Commission order to return to work.
