Getting to the AFLW with Transperth

Transperth will have its special-event services in operation to get fans to and from the Dockers v Collingwood AFLW match at Optus Stadium this weekend.

Trains

Mandurah Line – catch a train to Perth Underground, then catch a stadium train shuttle service from Perth Station to Perth Stadium Station.

Midland Line – catch a train to East Perth Station and walk over the Windan Bridge. Alternatively, catch the train to Perth Station and change to a stadium train shuttle service.

Fremantle Line – take a special event train straight to Perth Stadium Station. Alternatively, timetabled Fremantle Line services continue on the Midland Line, passengers can get off at East Perth and walk over the Windan Bridge to the stadium.

Joondalup Line – take a special event train straight to Perth Stadium Station or catch a Joondalup Line timetabled service and change in Perth for a stadium train shuttle service.

Armadale Line – train straight to Perth Stadium Station

Thornlie Line – to get there, take a Thornlie Line train straight to Perth Stadium Station.

After the event, Thornlie passengers should take an Armadale Line train to Cannington Station and then a train replacement bus to Thornlie.

All other train arrangements are the same as for ingress.

Buses

Special event buses running every 5-10 minutes for two hours before and one hour after the match on eight new suburban routes (from Karrinyup, Mirrabooka, Morley, Curtin, Ellenbrook, Canning Vale, Hamilton Hill and Fremantle).

Route 661 shuttle from Elizabeth Quay Bus Station every three minutes for three hours before the match.

Moore Street crossings closure

The pedestrian and level crossing on Moore St will be non-operational due to the increased volume of trains. Pedestrians can use the McIver Station underpass at the east end of the station.

McIver and Claisebrook Station closures

Trains on the Armadale, Thornlie and Midland lines travelling to and from Perth will not stop at Claisebrook or McIver stations after the event.

Train replacement buses will be operating during this time. Route 905 runs on a 10-minute frequency between Perth Busport and East Perth Station, stopping at Claisebrook, McIver and Perth stations and at Wellington St after Forrest Place (Stop 12924).

“Public transport is included in the ticket for three hours before the start of the game and three hours after its completion, so all fans need to do is show their ticket as they board their train or bus service,” Transperth spokesman David Hynes said.

“This means you should not pay using your SmartRider or buy a cash ticket.”

“These services have been designed specifically for the Stadium – so it is vital people check the Transperth website or App, plan ahead, be patient and respect their fellow travellers.”
